Another year end approaches and the Commissioner is preparing to start a new series of changes to many of the tax structures we have used for decades. Trust distributions reimbursement agreements, alienating professional income, and changes to corporate beneficiaries all start on 1 July. Add to this some changes to super starting on 1 July, and cases like Carter affecting our trust distribution strategies… Year end 2022 and preparing for tax year 2023 will be a balancing act like no other year end, and in the session we will consider what we need to have front of mind this year as 30 June approaches.
