What’s changing and what does this mean?
From 26 August 2024, 3 major changes in employment law in Australia are taking effect -which will impact almost all employers. Join Olivia Ang (Partnerships Manager), Simon Obee (Principal Lawyer) and Annie Pellizzon (HR Advisory Manager) as they discuss the latest updates to workplace and employment legislation, and what this means for finance professionals and businesses.
In this collaborative discussion, Employment Hero will cover:
- The ‘right to disconnect’ – which is being introduced in businesses with 15 or more employees.
- Changes to casual employment – including a new definition of casual employees in the Fair Work Act.
- Changes to the employee versus independent contractor test – which will change the assessment of whether someone is a true contractor or an employee.
- Other changes affecting Australian businesses – such as increased rights for workplace delegates and more.
The interactive session will run for 45 minutes, with an opportunity at the end to ask any questions you may have. Even if you can’t make the session, a copy of the recording and slides will be sent out to all registered attendees.
