Description
Following the contentious and landmark Victorian Supreme Court of Appeal decision of Optical Superstore and then the more recent NCAT Appeals Division decision of Thomas and Naaz, common operating structures within the medical industry may no longer be viable. The purpose of this session is to explain those decisions, what it means for clients historically and in the future and the approach by the respect state revenue offices (including the draft guidance yet to be released).
This session will also discuss the revised common law approach to determining whether an individual is an employee or contractor and what this means in the superannuation landscape.
